Car gutted in garage blaze

10:06pm Tuesday 13th May 2008

FIREFIGHTERS were called to deal with a blaze in Chadwell St Mary this evening.

It broke out at around 5.50pm in a house garage where a car and tyres were alight.

Firecrews from Orsett and Basildon were called to tackle the blaze, which was spotted by a neighbour. They used breathing apparatus to get close to the seat of the fire because of the intense smoke.
