Motorist hurt in roadrage attack
A MOTORIST was put in a headlock and pushed during a violent road rage attack.
The victim, a 57-year-old man, was driving along Stifford Road, South Ockendon when he had a minor shunt with a man driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa.
Both cars stopped and the victim got out to exchange details with the other driver.
As he began writing down the other vehicle's registration the driver, a man, got out.
He pushed the victim up against his own car before squeezing his hand so hard it broke the pen he was holding.
The thug then snatched the victim's car service book, which he had written part of the registration on, before threatening him and fleeing.
Police are now hunting the attacker and are appealing for witnesses.
Acting sergeant Suzanne O'Neill of South Ockendon police said: "This was a violent and unnecessary attack which left the victim shaken.
"According to the victim a number of vehicles passed and slowed down at the time of the incident to see what was happening but only one person called in.
"If anyone else saw this incident or recognises the attacker from the description we would like to hear from them."
The attacker is described as being of mixed race, aged 33, 5ft 10ins tall and was well built with short black hair. He wore a long-sleeved blue top with a yellow band around the neck.
He also had a heavily pregnant woman who was in the car with him who got out and shouted at the victim.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at 2.40pm on Easter Monday, is asked to contact police at Grays on 0300 333 4444.

Lets hope the police can catch this thug but let me guess .... I bet he doesn't have car insurance etc. so the poor man involved suffers in all ways.

so, WHERE were the cameras on this road, oh, I know, they were "facing the wrong way !".......it's about time that the ANPR cameras used better technology to get these criminals car drivers caught and OFF THE ROAD

perhaps the ANPR camera that normally sits in Daiglen Drive, should be instead be in Stifford Road
